Rowena Hutson is an award-winning feminist storyteller, performer and cabaret artist.

She is the creator and writer of the pop-culture obsessed, critically acclaimed solo comedies - The Unstoppable, Unsung Story of Shaky M, A Four-Eyed Guide to the Galaxy, Strong Female Character and Broke. Strong Female Character won the Most Outstanding Comedy Show at Melbourne Fringe 2015.

She is a founding member of the multi-award winning cabaret supergroup Fringe Wives Club, whose cult smash hit Glittery Clittery: a conSENSUAL party has toured the Australian and UK festival circuit to sold-out crowds and rave reviews. Fringe Wives Club won Best Cabaret at Adelaide Fringe 2018, were nominated for a 2018 Green Room Award for Best Cabaret Ensemble, and were recipients of the 2017 Moosehead Award.

Rowena’s practice uses elements of her own lived experience, detailed research and a flamboyant imagination to conjure worlds where we can have open discourse of feminist issues through laughter and community connection.

Rowena is also a carer for her chronically ill mother and after a decade of touring the world and stradling the joys of both theatre and cabaret is happy to be home in Melbourne and turning her talents to creating stories for young adults and small moments of theatre for the everyday.
